Commando Memorial

During World War II Allied soldiers came to Spean Bridge for Commando training.
British Commandos, United States Army Rangers and soldiers from Canada, France, Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, Poland and Belgium trained there.

Each November a commemorative service takes place around the monument with local people, former servicemen and a platoon of British Commandos.

The area is considered sacred to the memories of those who fell in the service of their country. When visiting the monument, please respect the peace and tranquility.
